Despite the extreme heat of the day, disruption on the railways and an England football match on the TV, 15 dedicated Dickensians gathered at The Charterhouse on 23 June 2026 to hear Paul Lewis, Secretary of the Wilkie Collins Society, deliver a fascinating and meticulously detailed analysis of Dickens's letters.
