DICKENS AND STAPLEHURST

Congratulations to former President of the DF Gerald Dickens (well known to Fellowship members as an actor) on the publication of his meticulously researched study of the fatal Staplehurst rail crash in 1865 - which his great, great grandfather survived. Gerald’s researches took him to France, where Dickens’s journey started, as well as the Staplehurst site where it ended so tragically. Gerald investigates the biographies of some of the other passengers on the train – many of whom did not survive the crash.
