Mmbers may be interested in attending  the launch of ‘A Helping Hand: Improving The Lives of South London’s Victorian and Edwardian Poor’ by Alan F. Parkinson and Chris Wilson.

A Helping Hand highlights the impact of the people and organisations striving to improve the lives of people in need in South London in the Victorian and Edwardian periods. It looks at poverty in its widest sense - in terms of access to health and education, as well as financial hardship and housing deprivation, with particular focus on the neighbourhoods around Blackfriars, the Borough, Walworth and Bermondsey in Southwark.

The book launch is at 11am on 14th June 2022 at: Blackfriars Settlement, 1 Rushworth Street, London. SE1 0RB

Please RSVP charities@almshouse-southwark.org as soon as possible by email - so that we can advise Blackfriars Settlement of numbers attending.
