The Dickens Fellowship of New York was founded in 1905. Members of our Fellowship vote on the novel to be studied and our meetings feature chapter presentations by DFNY members, followed by a discussion led by our program moderator. Our Dickens Birthday Luncheon in February, Dickens Commemorative Passing Luncheon in June, and December Holiday Gathering, which often include guest speakers. are yearly highlights of our fellowship. Group outings are often held such as our pre-pandemic visit to Trinity Cemetery to visit the grave of Alfred Tennyson Dickens, Son of Charles Dickens, 1845-1912.
The Dickens Fellowship of New York encourages all members to participate in its programs and activities to their individual degree of interest, and welcomes new members from all walks of life and at all levels of interest in the writings and philosophies of Charles Dickens.
Yearly, due to the enthusiasm and support of our members we are able to generously donate to causes and charities that would have appealed so strongly to the heart of Charles Dickens.
